Facilities

St Anthony's Home offers primarily long term residential care to members of both sexes and to all races and creeds.

Accommodation comprises single or double rooms with or without bathrooms, and cubicles in a dormitory-type setting. The bathrooms have showers, toilets and basins. St. Anthony's provides professional nursing care, all meals (prepared on the premises), laundry facilities and some entertainment. A local hairdresser does come on a regular basis to provide hairdressing facilities for those who want it.

Relatives and friends may visit at any time. The residents' families are actively encourage to be involved, as they are often an important link to the outside world. We encourage families to decorate or furnish the chosen accommodation wherever possible.

There is a large garden and outdoor recreational facilities. We have two TV lounges, a well used pool table, table tennis table and even a netball hoop. There are ducks, cats, budgerigars and goldfish in the ponds as part of the St Anthony's menagerie and all contribute to making the residents feel "at home". In selected cases, small pets are allowed.
Residents are encouraged to walk to the local shops, to take exercise walks around Rondebosch Common (which is only 200 metres away) and to lead as normal a life as possible. Possibly the biggest "facility" is the ability to interact positively with their fellow residents.

We have adequate off street parking for visitors, residents and staff in Berkeley Road.

We are also involved in the local Neighbourhood Watch.
